The club participate in characteristic yellow and green kits and are nicknamed The Canaries after the history of breeding the birds in the area (said to be introduced around the 16th century by a group of European immigrants in the area known as "The Strangers".
These would have been Huguenots who were also known in the east end for their love of le petit oiseaus.

Dunno, but they started out in Blackburn-style blue and white halves, as a lot of their first players came from Blackburn and brought old Blackburn kit with them.

Seen their early Victorian adverts, and lots of clubs were formed in the late Victorian age

"Colman's has been based in Norfolk since Jeremiah Colman started his mustard and flour business in the village of Stoke Holy Cross on the outskirts of Norwich in 1814. The company started making mustard from its present Norwich site in 1858."
So, mustard came first.
